What are average ball speeds of regular golfers? And what is the tour average? Are there ranges for both to helps get maximum distance?

What does it mean if I only have a lowe number on the ball speed when using the optimizer?

?? my ball speed was measured at a low of 129 and a high of 140 mph, yet my distances were nowhere near 258\280. ( 2 yrds per 1 mph) . Appears I need a lesson or 2 with some drills, not necessarily a new driver.

Stylin…. Spin rate also impacts the distance. If your spin rate was near to 1900 rpm, there is no reason why you will not get 280 yards with 140 mph ball speed.

That seems a little optimistic Rajesh. With a solid hit, a 93-94 mph swing speed will result in 140 mph ball speed. Even if all other launch conditions are perfect (ideal launch angle of 13-13.5*, backspin between 2500-2600 rpms, no sidespin etc) mathematically the distance will max out around 240 or so. In real world conditions this will vary depending on atmospheric conditions, so it might be a little longer than that, but under normal conditions it’s not realistic to expect 280 yds from 140 mph of ball speed.

When they say “1 mph ball speed = 2 yds distance”, it doesn’t mean you can multiply your total ball speed by 2 to get your distance. It’s a good rule-of-thumb once your ball speed has been established (for example 140 mph), every 1 mph higher or lower from THAT number will affect the distance 2 yds.

        Hope this makes sense.
