BMW TrackMan Open 2018: Amateurs and pros from 71 nations took part in the global golf competition.
Vedbaek, December 5th, 2018 – The Combine contest, running from May 1st to October 31st, 2018, which allowed all amateurs and pros around the world to compete against the best players on the planet has come to an end. Over 5,000 participants took aim at the high-score, including world-class players such as Jason Dufner, Patrick Reed, Anne Van Dam, and Sandra Gal. TrackMan combine is a standardized test where you hit two series of three shots to distances of 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 120, 140, 160, 180 yards and driver. Each shot gets scored from 0-100 points.
The BMW TrackMan Open had two categories (Female Only and Open), with prize money awarded each month and to the overall winners at the end of the tournament. The combined purse for both tournaments totals to US$120,000. On top of the prize money, the best amateur winner secured a spot to play in the BMW PGA Championship 2019 Pro-Am at Wentworth Club in England.

In total, 5,378 participants from 71 Nations submitted over 10,000 combine tests during the tournament period. The best result was achieved by Chris Killmer (USA) with an outstanding score of 94.0 points. A score that represents, an average distance to the pin of less than 3% on approach shots! This earned him the overall winner’s prize of US$50,000. Each monthly BMW TrackMan Open winner received US$5,000 in prize money.
The Ladies competition was won by Tzu-Chi Lin (TPE) with a superb score of 91.3 points. She took home the Female winners prize of US$25,000. The monthly prize money in this category was US$2,500.
What makes the BMW TrackMan Open so unique is the fact that amateurs can go head to head with the pros. More than 1,500 amateurs competed, and the young Swede Frida Kinhult delivered the best score of 90.4 points. With this win, the #6 on the Women’s World Amateur Golf Ranking earned an invitation to play in the Pro-Am of the 2019 BMW PGA Championship at the Wentworth Club (London, ENG).
