I started playing thanks to family members, my dad been the main influencer.
When did you turn Professional?
I turned professional in 2001, if I look back at it now, I probably turned professional too young, would have liked to
Which is your favorite golf course?
I could write a list here but my choice for links would have to be the European Club in Wicklow and for parkland, it would have to be Mount Juliet in Kilkenny, both Irish based courses.
Do you have a favorite coach you follow and why?
I try to follow and observe as many coaches as possible, every coach has a skill set that I can learn from and maybe incorporate into my own coaching. Sean Foley, Dana Dahlquist would be the high-profile coaches I like but I like some local coaches such as Chris Gallaher who works with Johnny Foster and Jamie Mcconnell who is Director of Instruction at Claude Harmon in Dubai.
Who is your favorite player and why?
Tiger and David Duval were the two I admired
What is your best golf related achievement?
I would have to say this is linked more to my coaching achievements than any playing achievements. The 3 that stand out would be the achievements of my clients Luke Donnelly, James Temple, and Daniel
As a golf coach, what is the most common mistake among players you see?
There is a few I could put down here from setup to the change in transition but I would have to say early extension would be one I see a lot in amateurs.
What are your greatest professional strengths?
Observation of the swing and seen the faults along with been able to help the client implement the changes but also coaching my clients to be able to self-analysis their own swing.
What’s in your bag?
Wilson Golf From Driver to putter.
How often do you play golf yourself?
Very little due to full diary with lessons, I mightn’t see the golf course for 4 to 5 months at a time.
What has changed since you started working with a TrackMan?
The ability to show clients that the swing changes we have made or trying to implement are making a positive impact on their ball flight, this helps my clients gain confidence earlier in what im trying to get them to achieve, which in turn makes them more open for change. Been able to show the facts to the client in numbers and images really helps speed up the process for change
Which is your favorite TrackMan feature, and why?
I like my clients to preform a combine test, this helps me understand what their technique is like in a gaming situation and allows me to see if they do anything different when focused on performance-based tasks
How and where can golfers get in touch with you?
Do you have any suggestions, how TrackMan can do better or differently?
I think TrackMan has their product down to a tee, the service is second to none from the reps to support. Equipment is accurate and very reliable. If I was to say anything maybe a bit more active on Youtube with videos from TrackMan coaches.
Would you like to be the next TrackMan coach of the month?
All you have to do is sign up on TrackMan University and complete Level 1,
we will randomly pick a new coach every month.
