If you lean the shaft behind you the momentum of the club will bring your hands closer to the ball and your swing plane will be raising.
High handle doesn’t necessarily mean high swing plane – only if handle and CoG of clubhead moves on the same plane which is rarely the case. You even demonstate that with the steep transition. The early extension is a shallowing move which reduces the swing plane number, otherwise with the low handle it would be even higher. Especially if you are dumped under, you would have high hands with a very low swing plane.
