PERFORMANCE PUTTING

TRACK FULL PUTTS WITH YOUR TRACKMAN 4

For the first time in putting, you can track the full ball roll. This provides you with accurate and actionable information on the entire putt. Your first generation data points include Launch Direction, Ball Speed, Speed Drop, Roll Speed, Skid Distance, Roll Percentage, Effective Stimp, Side and Total Distance. Future releases will include even more data points and insights.

VIDEO ANALYSIS SUITE

In addition to the data captured along the roll, live video with automatic replay provides you with further insights. A graphic overlay on the video automatically depicts the ball’s trajectory and you can even add the drawing tool to pinpoint focus areas. Set putts side by side with the Compare function. Tour Player videos with data will be added in future releases. Add as many as six iPhone cameras to capture additional angles.

We see many videos of performance putting everywhere, however we can not use Performance Putting. Maybe a beta version will make us (Trackman 4 owners) happy, until official release :)

I have a few questions about the new putting software. Do you of optimal numbers, for example what is optimal speed drop or roll % on a putt? Also, on a dead straight putt should the launch direction be 0.0?

      Hi Mike,

We are still in an early stage when it comes to knowing the full truth about the numbers.

Roll Percentage: depends on turf and player but on tour we have seen an average of high 80’s with a couple going
      into the 90% area.

Speed Drop: Relates to the skid distance / Roll %, and this also depends on turf and player – on tour we typically see 32% or less, with a couple in the mid 20-s.

Does launch direction mean the putter face is open or closed at impact? I have read that most tour players are .01-.02 open. Is that true? Thanks for any help
