RENDERING YOUR GOLF COURSE INTO TRACKMAN’S VIRTUAL GOLF LIBRARY

By Michael Manning PGA

Imagine your golf course is available for play 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. No frost delays or rain checks. It is never too cold, hot, or windy. Your leagues can be run year-round and your members can finally experience playing lessons and practice on the course. Prospects, Members, Resort Guests, and Homebuyers from around the world can see, interact, and take course flyovers of your facility. With a TrackMan Virtual Golf Course Rendering this experience is a reality.

So how does TrackMan do it?

The course rendering process begins with your local TrackMan Representative. Your local representative will meet you at your golf course and answer all your questions in person. We will also identify key characteristics, landmarks, and vistas unique to your property. When we know what makes your golf course special, we can highlight that experience. Once a plan is in place TrackMan will perform a drone flyover of the golf course and create a 3D lidar map. This map data combined with strategic photos from each hole allows us to create, design, test, and ultimately release your golf course in the TrackMan Virtual Golf World.

Wherever there is a TrackMan 4 your golf course can now be seen and played. Your website can feature flyovers of strategic holes. Your real estate team can showcase lots and views. Your Golf Professional can teach utilizing on-course practice and by adjusting settings such as wind. Not only can you control the wind in TrackMan Virtual Golf 2.0, but you will also see the wind’s impact on your environment through TrackMan’s industry-leading graphics. Trees, Long Grasses, and Water will show wind movement and you can change daylight settings to enjoy that perfect sunset.

What if your golf course looks like this right now?

For Black Desert Resort in St. George Utah, this presented a unique opportunity. Using the golf course designer’s contour maps, drawings, and materials information TrackMan was able to create the golf course in virtual reality before any dirt was ever moved. Now Black Desert Resort can be seen and played by golfers around the world. The Black Desert Sales Center has also set up a TrackMan 4 Simulator so guests can experience the golf course while on the property and during their tours.

In addition, Black Desert Resort has been able to test and refine their golf course experience. They have already been able to play their golf course and make strategic adjustments that are cost-effective and will create a memorable and special golfing experience for their guests.
