TRACKMAN CONTINUES TO GROW ITS COMPREHENSIVE PATENT PORTFOLIO

TRACKMAN HAS RECENTLY BEEN GRANTED TWO NEW PATENTS:

US10,471,328
“System and Methods for Coordinating Radar Data and Image Data to Track a Flight of a Projectile”

US10,473,778
“Method and an Apparatus for Determining a Deviation Between an Actual Direction of a Launched Projectile and a Predetermined Direction”

These two patents belong and date back to an early TrackMan patent family relating particularly to the tracking of a sports ball using radar and correlating data derived at least in part from the radar to images from a camera.

U.S. 10,471,328 covers the use of radar, alone or in combination with other tracking technology such as camera tracking technology, to track a sports ball and altering a related image, such as a video in a broadcast feed, to illustrate the trajectory of the moving sports ball in the image.

U.S. 10,473,778 covers the use of a radar, alone or in combination with other tracking technology such as camera tracking technology, to track a sports ball and altering a related image, such as a video broadcast feed, by illustrating data (for example numeric values) associated with the moving sports ball (for example, launch speed, launch angle, apex height, carry distance or curvature) in the image.

The patents cover the proprietary ball tracer technology developed by TrackMan and used in worldwide golf broadcasts where ball trajectories, a shadow line tracer on the ground, or numerical trajectory data associated with the flight of the golf ball are incorporated onto the broadcast feed to create a superior three-dimensional presentation of the golf ball flight and an enhanced viewer experience.

These two newly granted patents are related to other TrackMan patent families, including patents providing broad protection within the area of combined radar and camera sensor tracking. These patents reinforce TrackMan’s long-standing position as a pioneer in sports ball tracking and the industry leader in the generation and display of accurate sports data based at least in part on radar technology.
