Question: What is TrackMan Handicap?
Answer: TrackMan Handicap is a measure of your playing ability in Virtual Golf. The TrackMan Handicap is inspired by the new worldwide rules (WHS), where players are adjusted up/down based on a subset of their latest rounds. If you are logged in with a TrackMan account, you will receive a TrackMan Handicap after your first round of Virtual Golf. From that point, your TrackMan Handicap is automatically updated after each round of Virtual Golf.
Question: How do I get my TrackMan Handicap?
Answer: If you are logged into your TrackMan account, and play a round without using mulligans, with a gimme distance of less than 12ft or 3.5m, you will receive a TrackMan Handicap after your first round of Virtual Golf. If any of these conditions have not been fulfilled, the score will not count towards your TrackMan Handicap. Scores from private and tournament rounds which fulfill these requirements are included in the calculation of your TrackMan Handicap.
Question: How is TrackMan Handicap adjusted?
Answer: TrackMan Handicap is inspired by the new worldwide rules (WHS), where players are adjusted up/down based on a subset of their latest rounds. TrackMan automatically adjusts your handicap after each round based on your scores. If you post a score that is significantly better than your TrackMan Handicap, TrackMan might adjust your TrackMan Handicap more than the average of the subset of your latest rounds to make sure that your playing ability is reflected in the TrackMan Handicap.
Question: Will 9-hole rounds count towards updating my handicap?
Answer: Yes, 9-hole rounds will count, but only if you select to play 9 holes (either front or back 9). If you select 18 holes and quit after 10 holes, but never resume and finish the round it will not count towards updating your handicap. For 9-hole rounds, the adjustment is based on twice the 9-hole differential. (Ex., if your 9 hole differential is 2.2 it will be doubled to 4.4, so if your handicap is 4.5 you will be adjusted downwards slightly.) If you quit the round and finish it later, your handicap will be adjusted once the round is complete.
Question: Where can I find my new TrackMan Handicap?
Answer: You can find your TrackMan Handicap in TPS while you are logged in, TrackManIndoor.com, and the TrackMan Golf app.
Question: I do not think my TrackMan Handicap reflects my playing ability. Can I change it myself?
Answer: You cannot make manual changes to the TrackMan Handicap. The only way to affect the Handicap is by playing more rounds and follow the adjustments.
Question: I sometimes use another handicap indoors. Can I override the TrackMan Handicap with another number?
Answer: No, it is not possible to override the TrackMan Handicap. The only way to affect the Handicap is by playing more rounds and follow the adjustments. In a tournament, the host has the option to select between using a manual-input handicap, or the TrackMan handicap.
Question: We run a tournament using outdoor handicaps divided by two. What are my options?
Answer: For competitive rounds where handicap is factored into the score, your tournament host will have the option to select between using TrackMan Handicaps, or manually input handicaps.
How does the Trackman handicap compare to the USGA handicap? That is, am I shooting roughly what I would shoot at these course if I played them in real life? Thanks.
Hi Chris.
USGA handicap system is now the World Golf Handicap system, which is what the TrackMan handicap is based on. The major difference is that the minimum round to acquire a TM handicap is 1, and for outdoor handicaps many more rounds are required. TM handicaps are also slightly more sensitive to adjustments than the world system. Hope this helps!
Playing multiple practice rounds with “muligans” turned on & it counted all of them towards my handicap, by the time I noticed, it had taken me from a 14 to a -2 which I could only dream of! There’s a glitch in your software somewhere and you’re saying there’s no way to fix it? For the money this thing costs, there’s has to be a fix!
Same experience! My cap is way off because of Mulligans! How do I fix?
So shot 84/80/81 but my trackman handicap is 4.7….I would expect more like a 9.4… it is HALF of what it should be. I did not have any holes over a double bogey so I am wondering why this is?
Same for me, the TM HCP is way too low. I had one single 79 round and it took me from 11.7 to 3.7. Despite rounds at 82, 84, and 85 it still gives me a 5,7 HCP. The result is that I don’t log in anymore.
Where can I find the roules for HCP calculation?
Has any one resolved these HC issues, we have same issue with larger group and is ruining the experience!
I got an email from Traxkman support saying at this time there’s no way to remove a round from counting toward your index. Just have to play until it falls off. They’re working to fix it so that rounds with mulligans don’t count toward index.
I’ve played trackman courses at my local trackman range and I still don’t have a handicap??? Does it work on outdoor ranges???
Same issue in UK
I want to record my gross scores only; is there a setting to enable this?
Does the system change your tees based on the handicap? I have noticed playing a round with Friends that when we started (months ago) we set the tees and answered the handicap, but now it seems as though it puts us on different tees
Can you get a handicap from a TrackMan outdoor range?
Is gimme distance 12ft or less, or less than 12ft? If set at 12ft will round count for handicap?
Can you get a trackman hcp in a trackman range setting by playing courses?
Where is the option to set gimme distance?
I have 20 rounds, and 8 of the best gives me average at 14,8, but my hcp are set to 9,3? My best round of this 20 are 10,6. Still my hcp are 9,3? Don`t understand this at all.
Is it possible to resume a round in a tournament and if so, for long is it possible to resume?
Can I reset my history? Played on a track man that had to be recalibrated (finally). And I forgot to change to the proper club a bunch anyways instead of the preselected club. I just want to start over.
